What is Jisko?

Jisko is an open-source microblogging application. Source code can be obtained here. You can report bugs or submit patches at Launchpad.

Using Jisko

You can update your Jisko status from a few places. If you want, you can simply go to Jisko.net, log in using your username, password, and write your note. If you want you can use our Jabber bot, or our mobile site, or our mobile application, or our desktop client (soon). You can also use WP2Jisko that writes a note in Jisko when a new post is published.

If you want you can reply one of your Jisko buddies, you must type @, the username of the person who you are going to reply, and the message (example: @johndoe hey!). And if you want, you can also send private messages to your Jisko friends, using the ! symbol instead of the @ (example: !johndoe ok, see you there!). Check more at the syntax section.

Jisko & Twitter integration

You got a Twitter account, and want to keep informed to your followers, at the same time as you read they? No problem, just add your account at the Twitter tab and you'll be able to do it.

If you want, you can reply to your Twitter friends, simply using the % instead of the @.

Customize your profile

All Jisko users can customize their profiles. You can upload your favorite background image and avatar and choose your prefered theme.

Jisko apps

There are some apps which make using Jisko funnier:

- If you love using your mobile phone or you can't stay in front of your computer all time, you can use the Jisko Mobile Sender for quickly sending notes.

- If you stay in your computer a lot of time but you want a prettier and portable interface for sending and reading notes, you can use our desktop app, called JiskoAir (available soon). All you need is a computer and a Jisko account.

- If you want, you can send a note every time you update your WordPress blog. WP2Jisko can do it automagically. All you need to do is installing the plugin, type your username and API Key, and that's all. If you want you can customize the message. And you can also put your last Jisko note inside your blog's sidebar, using Jisko for WordPress.

That's all?
